Artist606 Rose Ave Long Beach, CA 90802E-mail: juan_anguiano4@hotmail.com Artist Statement: I paint to show people something they no longer see. Show them a world that although impossible exists in a corner of their mind. I want to create art that shows my soul that no one can decipher. I want my art to be an infinite dictionary of words, a book of endless interpretations, and something worth keeping.
Life for me began with a stripe of color. Each stroke of the paintbrush revealed an uncertainty in me. I stood on the other side of the art world. I could see the paintings, the sculptures, the photographs, the artists. Their world was peaceful and joyful, they expressed themselves through attire and imagination. They had no limits to what they could create.
I wanted a key, a way in to the art world. I was turned down as a little kid. I was told it was a risky life, it’s laws were not bound. I had grown fears from the threats, but I wanted to be an artist.
Moving to Oregon gave me the opportunity to be myself, to be free from the lonesome reality. I found true happiness in art, in each panel of ideas. I picked up the paintbrush and did what I felt was right.
I became an artist and I was given that key to savior for a while. Plans became something new and I had to move back to California. And here I am. Looking, with a paintbrush in hand, for the new art world.
