Artist Statement:
A blend of Jazz, Bossa Nova & Latin beats as well as original compositions. A multicultural band that mirrors the richness and diversity of our community.
Artist Resume:
Along for the Ride, is a group of musicians from Latin America and the United States that combines flamenco, bolero, bossa nova, and other Latin styles. The band’s arrangements of standards and original compositions synthesize all these styles, enhanced by the rhythm, the harmony, and the cadence of the American jazz and the Brazilian samba. Along for the Ride has performed in massive festivals, such as the Hollywood Forever Cemetery’s Day of the Dead Celebration and The Salvadorian Festival, as well as other venues, as the Seabird Jazz Lounge, and the BB King’s. The band has also created with success a series of house concerts called “Sin Mura-Jazz” where they offer homemade ethnic dishes along with their and other guest artists’ performances. Along for the Ride recently released its first album named “Cromático” (available in Amazon, iTunes, and Napster), and it’s working on a second CD called “Cutting Edges”.
